From R.U. to I Do!

December 3rd, 2010

dancyn22Cynthia (nee O’Valle) and Dan Carhart both attended Rutgers University where they were close friends. Cynthia graduated and upon her first trip back, she ran into Dan and they began dating. Little did they know this would lead to a serious romance. Flash-forward to Christmastime in New York City—Dan planned an enchanting evening of dining and a Cirque D’ Soleil show. After an excellent performance, the two went to check out the tree in Rockefeller Center. While going through security to reach the observation deck, a metal detector went off. Cynthia thought Dan was acting a little weird but he was quick to hide under his wallet—a beautiful round cut center stone engagement ring. As the snowflakes fell, Cynthia joyfully accepted. The two were wed in Monmouth Beach this past June. They honeymooned in Costa Rica and are now happily enjoying married life.

Doug & Erica at Barcela Maya

Erica Hawxhurst is best friends with Jennifer at Neves Jewelers. Erica knew she wanted a rare Asscher Cut center diamond for her engagement ring and Jennifer found the perfect stone. When her fiancée, Doug, came in to pick the ring, Jennifer showed him the Asscher Cut and two decoy rings. With a little help from Jennifer he picked the perfect ring.

On December 22, 2007 Doug took Erica to their favorite restaurant, The Bistro Olé, knelt on one knee and presented her the ring.

The couple love to travel and planned a destination wedding. They chose the Barcela Maya Palace that had opened on the same night they got engaged. They were married on July 18, 2009 with 45 of their closest friends and family who make the trip

Marianne & Greg

Greg Gerhartz met Marianne Lutomski working at Old Navy when she was 16, he was 17. They lost touch, but years later after graduating from college, they met again. Greg was working at Chase Bank in the City on 39th Street and Marianne worked a block away on 38th Street. One day she walked into Greg’s bank and, as they say, the sparks started to fly, but she was too shy to approach him, another year went by and finally they met again at Champs, a local sports bar, she reintroduced herself, he bought her a drink and they’ve been together ever since.

Greg’s engagement plan was very special. While gaming down at the Showboat in AC, he texted Marianne: “Lost all money, meet me in suite”. When she arrived at the door, rose petals were scattered on the floor. Inside Greg had created a beautiful tableau with roses and candles where he proposed. The ring he presented her was a Vintage style, with a round center diamond and pave side diamonds. The couple are planning a March 26th, 2011 wedding at the Primavera Regency in Sterling.
